The Journey of a Physio Becoming the Artist Within
I’ve always loved music and was obsessed with the Electone in my youth, then depression struck at the end of my university studies and I stopped playing music as a result.
After a 17-year hiatus I was reunited with my music and found myself fully whole again since overcoming depression all those years ago! I now relish jamming on keys, singing, and am making decent progress on the guitar. I also compose and produce my own music.
On one sunny Tuesday morning in 2018, in the middle of a physio consultation with a lovely patient I asked myself: “Do I still want to keep doing this?” And I knew almost instantly that after 18 years, my time as a clinician was over.
Whilst the decision to hang up my clinician hat was apparent and I am most grateful to be able to pursue my hidden dreams, processing the emotions and embarking on a huge life change has not been easy at all!
This is the story of me becoming Asirus, my artist within, and I’m so thrilled to be sharing my journey with you.
